Kafafel
This is a word that I have heard people use often. It is used to represent a problem or blunder. Is it a real word or derived slang. And if so what is its true spelling and definition.

Welcome to the board.I think the word you mean is more frequently spelled "kerfuffle" or "curfuffle"; see this old thread for more information.

Kerfuffle is the word you probably have in mind. It's mainly used in the UK; Quinion has an article on it.Pipped by the good Doctor, but at least the link is different.

Be careful in using it if you ever visit South Africa. Though derived from the same source, here it means to snog.
